Pavlina: Life is Not For the Living

I haven’t stepped inside a Wal-Mart since the summer of 2004, but even before that I was not a regular of the place. My decision to stop shopping at Wal-Mart was because I just think it is wrong how Wal-Mart is increasing our dependence on China. I saw a documentary in that same year, 2004, where there were showing the Gi-Normous amount of containers from China, goods sold exclusively in Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is the only distributor for many companies in China. These companies make the cheapest crap possible, then only, ONLY sell it to Wal-Mart. A-MAZ-ING!!! Wal-Mart aside, it has become impossible to live in America without Made in China. I encourage you to look the the mouse you are using to surf this blog, look at your computer, look at your shoes, your dishes, your child’s toys, look in your office. On the underside of, what seems to be, every friggin thing you own, the phrase “made in China” will be there. I have gone on about the evil of Made in China on this blog before. There are a few few, proud, souls, that have tried, and it was almost impossible. With the recent recalls that made headlines in the news recently; the big pet food scare, and the toothpaste recall, I think we are all aware that China makes crap, cuts corners and has no conscience about how these products are made.

I was checking out the Manolo Shoe Blog in my Google RSS reader, the only way I ever read blogs anymore. I stumbled upon this sheer horror, and truly one of my worst nightmares come to life. Please, please, please for the love of all things holy click on this link, if you click on nothing else. In a word, DIS-GUST-ING. I don’t mean that women’s feet either. I mean how could this even happen? Now Wal-Mart is knowing selling these shoes known to cause these problems, and they don’t even care? Are you kidding me!?!? I am speechless.
