Happy Friday!!!

I caught the cold from the children. I have been taking my Zicam, but I fear that this one is firmly entrenched. Hopefully I can get home, gets the kids to bed and take a load off and relax. Needless to say, with feeling like crap all day, I haven’t been doing much work. *sigh* Maybe next week, there is always next week.

You know what I don’t understand? Colds are viruses. Apparently once you have gotten a virus, don’t you build up immunity? SO why do I still get a cold every time the kids do? It seems like I should have caught a few million colds by now and there shouldn’t be any more left. Ok. I know they mutate, I understand that, but now I have a scratchy throat and a stuffy nose, I feel like crap and I hate the virus that has taken up residence in my cells, making me feel like crap. Get out of hthere! I didn’t invite you! Geez, these viruses just don’t get the hint. They always show up where they aren’t wanted.

So I bought some jeans last weekend. I went to Express. About 4-5 years ago, I got THE PERFECT JEANS at Express. They were stretchy denim, but durable. I have always machine washed and dried them and they have kept their shape. They have a high enough waist so I can sit and bend over without showing my crack. They are comfortable. They are cut well, so they are NOT Mom Jeans. I love them. Their inside dimensions match my outside dimensions so I don’t get the “muffin top” or the “back gap”. They also, unfortunately, have a large tear in the left knee. This makes them unsuitable for most situations. So remembering my prior staisfaction, I went back there.

I looked at the jeans. Listen, the name mean nothing to me. I wanted: dark jeans, boot cut , skinny jeans, stretchy jeans. I don’t care if it is the “Stella” or the “Zelda”, I just wanted a pair of skinny jeans and a pair of boot cut jeans that make my butt look good, that I can si and bend over in without showing the world my crack, and they must be comfortable. I try on, like 10 pairs of jeans. I finally walk out the store with my two pair. I am not 100% happy with these jeans. There is the “Back gap” and I will be forced to wear a belt to avoid showing the world my crack. This upsets me.

I take the jeans home and I compare them, side by side and stack them to compare the sizes and dimensions. My old beloved jeans are size 3/4. My new jeans are size 2. My new jeans are physically bigger than my old jeans in the waist and hip area, same size in the thigh area. WTF? Listen, I don’t understand this. Why are my size 2 jeans bigger that my size 3/4 jeans? Why? Shouldn’t they be…smaller? You would think. Nope, bigger. By about half an inch. Hence, the “back gap”. They are also cut so they dip more in the front, this also contributes to “back gap”. Very annoying. I’ll see if there is an easy way to alter them, other wise I’ll be wearing a belt.

I definitely agree that seinttg goals is a huge advance when it comes to productivity. Often, the hardest part of getting work done is just getting started in the first place!- Martin Reed
