Pavlina: Life is Not For the Living

Hello stranger

I am testing writing the post in Notepad then pasting it into the WordPress editor. One reason I don’t like doing this is because there is no spell check in Notepad and I am a terrible typist.

I also want to fix an error from my last entry. I said I would move to typepad. That is incorrect. I would move to Moveable Type . My bad.

Okay, I don’t have anything else to talk about now, so I’ll just talk about how boring my life is and how stupid I’ve been.

I forgot to take my sewing machine in within one year of purchase (Cue in Jason admonishing me for this oversight). Granted, it has run perfectly fine. Except the foot pedal is cracked. I got it used, it was a classroom model. I would never have been able to afford it otherwise. When I bought it the lady said, “Just make sure you bring it back within a year for your free service,” and now I have missed out. Durrrrr. The warranty says I at least get free parts. *sigh*

Wow, it has been a long time since we have spoken! I do apologize for that. I know most of my regular readers will appreciate that life just gets in the way of blogging.

Speaking of life, I signed up for NaNoWriMo for the second year. I had high hopes this year as I am not pregnant and I should have more enery. Yeah, right. Jason, my earstwhile and loving spouse, is not as enthused as I about this. He had made a few comments regarding the time committment, as all of the write-ins are on weekday nights and the house is usually in complete pandemonium at night.

Why don’t children like to go to sleep? Ours fight it like the dickens. I almost want to throw my hands up and let the little buggers stay up until midnight, they basically do anyway. I know one day I will look back at this it won’t be so bad. I am living in the now, and it is hard. Martin is finally getting to sleep within an hour of being put down, but now Emma has started the battle. I know this is because of the nursing thing. I nursed her too long to sleep and now thats what she wants. Anyway, sorry about that mini-rant.
*end of side track*

So I am going to do NaNoWriMo, but I have to do it using the least amount of family time possible. What this means is that the time I usually spend writing these long missives to you will be used in writing my crappy novel that will never see the light of day. I will return to you in December. I will give you short update posts, but that is all.

I really like doing NaNoWriMo, I met some really nice people last year. I find that as we all get older it is really hard to meet people who actually share our primary interests instead of meeting people through our life experiences. What I mean by that is meeting people through our children, work, etc. Remember back in college when you met people that were interested in, for example, why the majority of shoe soles are black. You would all share a common interest that had nothing to do with the fact that you were all in the same class or dorm.
