I know I should wait a few days to post a review, but I won’t. Besides, I can always update my review if I see fit.I got this as a deluxe sized sample from Sephora. It has no discernible scent, and has a pretty iridescent ivory color. It does not resemble spackle so much, as it is a thick lotion. Think cake glaze. When I saw the consistency my expectations went down.
It went on very nicely and glided on quite well. It felt a litte mositurizing. It did nOT fill in any pores or wrinkles. With a name like “spackle” I would expect it to fll in, like, well, like spackle. This it did not do.
It does make a nice base for foundation. wuldn’t say it make my foundation “grab” any better, and i needed to use the same amount I use with my Smashbox Photofinish. I use Estee Lauder Individualist foundation which has a few lasting issue on it’s own. I love the color and blendability though. Second to none I have tried. Even better that my previous HG Prescriptive Virtual Skin.
The spackle appears to do the trick for increasing foundation wear-time. I applied the Estee Lauder about 7 hours ago, and it looks nice. Slightly oily though, but nothing out of the ordinary. It also gives my skin a nice glow, I assume form the iridescence. That’s nice on my early winter skin.
Over all, I give this a meh. I have also heard of fellow oily-skin users comlaining of acne from this product. If that happens, into the trash this will go. Unless I have a revelation before my sample runs out, I probably won’t repurchase.
You can get this at Sephora. Spackle, 2 oz will run you 21.50 USD. A little pricey for an average product, if you ask me.
