Argh! I had messy code. I did fix it, but here is the crux. These errors are written in a different language. I give you this example:
Error Line 97 column 43: document type does not allow element “a” here; assuming missing “li” start-tag.
… >
Error Line 105 column 75: end tag for element “img” which is not open.
…g/affiliates/Buttons/88×31/get.gif”/>>
The Validator found an end tag for the above element, but that element is not currently open. This is often caused by a leftover end tag from an element that was removed during editing, or by an implicitly closed element (if you have an error related to an element being used where it is not allowed, this is almost certainly the case). In the latter case this error will disappear as soon as you fix the original problem.
If this error occurred in a script section of your document, you should probably read this FAQ entry.
OK. The bulk of my issues appeared to be with those cute little button links (that no-body follows anyway). After I adapted the page to my specific needs, I really thought my code was rock solid, but I was mistaken. Crud.I did fix all the errors and I was finally able to put the validated seal on the site.I ROCK!!!!!
Now I just have to fix the XHTML on my blog…*sigh*
