Pavlina: Life is Not For the Living

I must be. I mean to say, I must be raising ingrates. You know, I think at some point, every holiday season I ask myself, “Do I need to write a thank you note for these gifts?” I have never written a thank you note for Christmas gifts, honestly. The last batch of thank you notes I wrote was for the few things we got when Emma was born, just about three years ago now. Well, really more like two and a half years ago I would have written the last note, I’m sure. Doing a quick web search I find I am not the only person to struggle with this concept. I just think it is weird to write a thank you note for a Christmas gift, most likely because I have never done it. I think the best thank you would be a small gift given in return.

I do wonder, however if people are expecting these missives from my children written by me? I really hope not, if they are then they must think that I am, well, raising ingrates. The question is, to note or not? He he he, kinda funny word play. I won’t be noting this year, just to let you know. I still haven’t mailed my Christmas cards yet!
