Pavlina: Life is Not For the Living

I just realized my new blog template looks very boring…*yawn*. Sorry, I only hope it is the content that keeps you coming back for more.

I have been spending a lot of time over at makeupalley.com. It used to be the more time I spent on the site, the more I spent on make up but I made a decision at the end of last year that I was going to drastically reduce my cosmetic spending. I have been doing pretty well, but I have not gone cold turkey. I have bought a few things, but I have really forced myself to stop and really consider before I buy a new cosmetic product. Besides, I have more than enough makeup as it is and there aren’t too many colors that I don’t already own that will look good one me. Also on makeup alley you can swap for slightly/lightly used stuff. That may sound gross to some of yu but I have gotten some pretty nice things there.  It is a great way for me to get rid of all the stuff I bought because it looked so pretty at the time but I only ever wore once or twice. So I am pretty proud of myself.

I also went to the dentist this morning. Apart from the bad news that I have yucky gums (already knew that, who has time to floss anyway!?!?!), and I have 3 filling that need to be replaced, everything is okay. Well, mostly. The office files the claim AFTER they collect the money from you so I hyper ventilated a bit when they gave me the total, but managed to talk myself down as I realized that I may get about 65-70% of that back. I hate the dentist, don’t you? I have to go back in a week or so so he can drill out my old amalgam fillings and put in the new ones. Oh the horror.
