We all live in the techno age

March 9th, 2007 by Pavlina

That should be sung to the tune of The Beatles, Yellow Submarine song. I have The Beatles stuck in my head. We have the 1 CD, and I tend to play it a lot because I play with the kids and I want something on, but I don’t want to turn the idiot box on. I have really gotten to like this CD and I find myself singing various songs. This is the conundrum.

I am not really a child of the techno age. I was born in 1971, so I fully remember the analog age (as opposed to the digital age). I grew up with 8-tracks, records (vinyl!), and TV remotes that were WIRED. I adapted to technology rather quickly. We all did or we perished. I can hang techno with the best of them.

So, back to The Beatles. I rather fancied listening to The Beatles away from home. This would entail me getting the CD out of the CD player, taking it to the computer, ripping it in i-tunes and syncing my i pod and getting the songs on there. At least a 15-20 minute time burden and no can do this morning. Of course I could have simply taken the CD and played it in my van. The Old Fashioned way. Ugh, what a pain. Then the CD would be out in my van and who knows when it would make it back into the house.

The take away mesage here is that I went through my thought process as ripping the CD and putting the songs on my i pod before I thought about playing the actual CD on the player in my vehicle.

We are indeed all living in the techno age.
